Sebastião Salgado: Genesis SUMO
SUMO-sized Taschen limited edition publication of Salgado's colossal Genesis project.
Perhaps the most famous photographer working today, Sebastião Salgado has undertaken three long-term projects during his career: Workers (1993), Migrations (2000) and, most recently Genesis. The result of eight years of work, Genesis was borne out of Salgado's desire to rediscover the natural world that has escaped the hand of modern humankind. The Genesis project, along with Salgado's Instituto Terra, are dedicated to showing the beauty of the planet, reversing the damage done to it and preserving it for the future.
This Collector’s Edition, designed and edited by Lélia Wanick Salgado, features exquisitely reproduced large-format images arranged not by theme or region but rather conceived as a portfolio that forms a journey around the globe, immersing us in Salgado’s vision of the Earth’s mesmerising scale, order, and beauty.
